The Object Oriented Technologies have changed the way many businesses engineer their software systems. Major design mechanisms are encapsulation (for information hiding and loose coupling between modules) and inheritance (for code sharing and reuse). It is now well established that an object-oriented approach can also bring many benefits to the field of high performance computing, for example by allowing the encapsulation of data distribution and parallelism in classes presenting a sequential interface, thus fostering a transparent use of the underlying distributed system.
Following these ideas, many prototype tools and environments have been developed around the world, including in Europe. Despite this important number of projects, the visibility of European HPCN software tools projects is weak comparing to those projects carried out in the USA. The aims of this workshop will be:

This workshop is supported by the EU funded EuroTools Working Group ( http://www.irisa.fr/EuroTools).
